You could create ID for text inside like this:

$(document).on('click', '.releasebutton', function () { // button class="releasebutton"var label = $(this).text();
    if (label == "Add") { // it is "Add" by default
        $(this).text("Cancel");
        $('.ReleaseTD').append("<span id='textID'><br>" + "test</span>");
    }
    else {
        $(this).text("Add");
        $('#textID').remove(); 
    };
});
